Long-Arm Quilting

Back again and "Doing" this

OK I am going to start out fresh and go with this.  Hopefully i have the problems with my domain and website fixed now.

I am still quilting and sewing from my home and am busy.  Just finished 7 memory bears, have a "old" quilt top in the quilting machine that belonged to my customer's grandmother.  I just love quilting the 'special' quilts for people.

Memory bears are so huggable, they can be made from almost any fabric item.  I just finished a bear created from a very special dress that was worn years ago at a special inaguration.

I've got a craft show in Kearney Ne this weekend at the fair grounds.

Stop by and see us at the Holiday Splendor Craft show in Kearney Ne this Sat. November 12, 2016 at the Buffalo County Fair grounds.  All kinds of items, red tractor, green tractor, star wars, plus many more quilts available.  Memory bears, Memory quilts, baby quilts (john deer), aprons, purses, table runners, wall hangings plus options to order anything you can dream up.

Fair time is here again

Well county fairs are over and Nebraska State Fair is starting on Aug 28th.  Got 4 blue ribbons at county and now quilts are entered at the State Fair.  It is always such an adventure.

Working on a Kansas University 'Jayhawk' quilt ready to go into the frame.  Working on 20 memory bears and 2 memory pillows.  Also working on a donation quilt for a young lady who had a car accident and is working on rehab away from her 6 kids.

Have attended 2 weddings in the last couple months for great-nieces.  Wow that makes us sound "old".  Youngest grandkids are starting high school this year.  Seasons of change.  Mom is 92 now and still going strong.  Has a very pretty pink broken star quilt at the fair.

Trying to get fall stuff started- some calking, sealing, cleaning, wood cuting etc.

Ok we'll see how I do here.  My goal is to write on here at least every month with a possiblity of doing this weekly.

Have a great week and see you at the Nebraska State Fair

Nebraska sunsets are just the best.

trying again

I am not sure i'll ever be a good blogger but i am going to try it again.

Have a special going on for anyone who saw my spot on NTV Made in Nebraska.  15% off your 1st order.

Ready for spring I am.

Thanks for stopping by

It must be too late to be doing this --read back through post I just put on and the spelling is awful.  SORRY!

Hope to do better next time.  Keep on quilting - more fun than web pages.

Ready for fairs?

I am not.  They seem to be earlier each year.  I create lots of items during the year but they are custom made one of a kind items for customers and are all gone it seams at fair time each year.  Some are close and i caould borrow back but that can be a little strange sometimes.  I just ahave a couple for county fair and will have to get creative to have items for the state fair in a few weeks.

July already

Hope everyone had a great holiday.  Lots of sun and fun.

Can't believe the year is 1/2 over.  Got your Christmas projects started?  I do.  Getting started so hopefully won't have the BIG rush at the end like I had last year.  I really need to get better at saying no when it gets to the end and people still want things created in time for holidays.  Oh well it always seems to work out.

Fairs are coming up too- do you have your projects completed for the county and state fairs?

Surprise I'm back

Running today had van apointment and mom had a dr apt.  My Husband was sitting in the van waiting on us and part of the building in front of him fell down.  WOW.  I heard it in the store looked out the window and didn't see anything.  Guess you never know.

I picked up some fabric for the next couple of quilts i'll be making.  Picked up another one to put binding on and finished up the last bear in another order.

Hope everyone is thinking about everyone in north central/east nebraska who went through the tornados today.  It is just unimaginable what that would be like.  Need to see what we can do to help them out.

take care and be safe.

1/2 a year gone WOW

2014 has been a "Memory Bear" year so far.  Lots of bears and lots of memories.  I pulled this up and i knew it had been a while since i'd posted but WOW 7 months.  I know time just seems to go faster and faster.  I've created lots of bears, some quilts, quilted quite a few more and accomoplished numerous sewing projects for people.  We had 2 grandkids graduate from High School, two grandsons are playing baseball, had a family reunion and working full time.  It's been busy to say the least.  I'm back on track now I hope and will try to post at least once or twice a month.  Maybe more--see how it goes.  Thanks for taking time to check out Forget-Me-Not Creations.

I'm back

Sorry for the long space since my last post.  I got a virus in my computer and it was in the shop for a while and still has some problems.  I also started working out-side my home again so time is a premium right now.

Craft show in Kearney today and had a good crowd for the morning then of course the Huskers were on TV, with a great win, so the afternoon was quiet.

Craft Show Season is here!

Current schedule is for October 5th in Grand Island and November 9th in Kearney.  More info as we get closer.

New day -- End of a day

Our "Family Cat" Cali left us yesterday.  She had been with us for years and definatly my Husband's "best friend".  Sad day.  RIP

Cleaning again

I am cleaning my sewing room again.  I got an awesome gift from a sis-in-law-- a industrial sewing maching.  Soooo I had to rearange to fit it in.  They say your space should be funtional and reflect you.  I think i have a lot of functional but a lot of stuff so trying to weed some of the "stuff" out.  I haven't done much to personalize my space i'll have to work on that.  I need to redo my cutting table which is my next project- that will give me some more room too.

Newest fun Husker/Tractor/Windmill quilt

I'll post a picture when I get it put together.

metalic thread

Evening/night/morning whatever you want to call this time of day.  Seems to be my computer time.  Posted a photo of a sunset just for the heck of it.

Nebraska sunset with windmill and jet streams what more could you ask for.

Have you ever tried to sew with metalic thread?  I have on my regular sewing machine but tried it on my quilting machine and even though I went slooooow.  It just kept breaking.  Maybe it is just old thread.  Maybe it just wasn't ment for the quilting machine.  I don't know.  Guess i'll table that idea for a while and go onward to other projects for now.

If you have experience with metalics please add your input, thoughts, coments.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Have a good night.

Quilting for fair

got it quilted now ready for binding.  working on finishing up several other projects.

Be sure to stop and check out my page on pinterest at

What a day

Loading up food for a family reunion----open the door and it just falls in the middle of the floor.  What a surprise.  Picked up set door back on front of refrigerator taped it shut and off we went.  Not the best way to start a busy day.

I just have never even heard of this happening?  Oh well nothing broke so no big mess just one bottle that the lid wasn't on tight so little clean up.

All for tonight.

Take care and share what is happening in your corner of the world.

I'm back

Been a little while, grandson playing legion baseball, garden, 2 family reunions (one over one coming this weekend) mowing, quilting, sewing and everyday life.

Did finish a wallhanging 28 X 48  Lots of bright flowers with lots of custom quilting.  $48.00

28" X 48"  bright flowers with lots of custom quilting  $48.00

Just had to share this

OK. . It says: Advice from Singer Sewing Manual of 1949 : Prepare yourself mentally for sewing. Think about what you are going to do. Never approach sewing with a sigh or lackadaisically. Good results are difficult when indifference predominates. Never try to sew with a sink full of dirty dishes or beds unmade. When there are urgent housekeeping chores, do these first so your mind is free to enjoy your sewing. When you sew, make yourself as attractive as possible. Put on a clean dress. (ROFL!!) Keep a little bag full of French chalk near your sewing machine to dust your fingers at intervals. Have your hair in order, powder and lipstick put on. (Darn, where did I put my powder??) If you are constantly fearful that a visitor will drop in or your husband will come home, and you are not neatly put together, you will not enjoy your sewing.

All right here is the main part

Baseball games got stormed out sooooooo here is the top without borders.  It has 3 borders to do yet.  I like it but not quite what i thought it would be.

Now to get borders done.

two blocks now

Here are two blocks.  I don't ever remember being this anxious to get a top done.  I have about 2/3 of the blocks done but busy couple of days so I'll let you know when I get  the top done then have to figure out how to quilt it.

Newest quilt

Start of a 3-D labrinth (sp) quilt.  I am not really sure about the fabrics.  I think it will take on more of a 3-D appearance as the blocks get put together.  What do  you think?

Closeup photos of a couple blocks in the Truck quilt

I apliqued on some small windmill fabric to tie in with the windmill in the center pannel.  I am a big windmill fan and love taking pictures of old windmills-- hope someday to paint some of them.

Being a big husker fan I like to add some special quilting to accent the Nebraska theme along with the old cars, trucks, and windmills on this quilt.

Newest Quilt

Car, Truck, Husker quilt -- Newest quilt i'm working on. I always try to do something special with the quilting.  I'll post another photo when i get it done.

Still Cleaning

Deep Cleaning is a lot of work.  I have been sorting through the tubs and behind them also.  I found 5 tubs of actual sewing fabric ---like for clothes.  WOW  I don't sew clothes much so have to decide what to do with that fabric.  Then i get everything out in the middle of the room and I get two small sewing orders.  I couldn't even get to my machine so had to take time to dig out my machine for that.  Then back to cleaning I think i am down to 3 tubs of misc. that i need to finish sorting now.  Dissapointed though I thought when i got to the closet in the corner i could empty it and put sorted tubs in it.  Guess what the tubs wont fit.  Bummer.  Oh well still good to get sorted out and some deep cleaning done.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  got a little rain and quite a bit of hail (small), the ground was white.  Haven't checked my garden yet.  Tomorrow.

Good night till next time.

Cleaning----Deep cleaning

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  It was beautiful and got part of the garden planted.

There will be no pictures tonight I am cleaning my sewing room to the darkest corners.  I think maybe i might have a large amout, maybe almost too much, well maybe not too much but really close to having too much fabric.  Did i really say that???? Well it was time to clean, reorganize and sort.

When i get done i'll post a couple of pictures of my sewing room.  It may take a day or two to :"get er done".

Have a good week.

May and COLD What's up with that?

Here it is May and spring just can't seem to Spring.  I am concerned about all the fruit trees and flowers, I don't know how well they will survive all the hot & cold mother nature is sending our way.  I'm not complaining it could be worse.

We've got some new birds around and an not sure what they are- i'll post a photo and if you know what they are please let me know.

We went on a big vacation, first one in 14 years, so pretty exciting.  I'll post some photos one of these nights.

Stay warm till next time.

still chilly in Nebr

Well I had a picture of the ice all over the trees and yard this morning.  The sprinklers ran but it was cold enough everything was frozen.  Kind of pretty but my computer is acting up and won't load a picture so another night for that.

What would you like to see or talk about?  Tips, Techniques?fabrics?  photos of projects, Any thoughts?

Spring is Here!

Here again

I can't believe it has been 3 weeks since i posted.  SORRRY!  Time just goes by so fast.  Been a busy 3 weeks.  My mom is a supper neat wonderful person and she turned 90 years young.  You'd never know she is ninety.  I am pretty sure i won't be in as good a shape as she is in if I am still around.  Had a couple of different parties for her so been busy.

I made her a photo quilt which was fun.  It has lots of photos on it from baby pictures of her right up to the great-grandkids.  I'll post a picture of the payout stage.  She decided she wanted it bigger so i am going to add a couple of borders to it for her.  I'll post more pictures when i get it finished.

Good Evening

Well it is my time of night i guess.  Seems the only time I get to this is the middle of the night.  I sew a lot in the evening and then wind down by checking e-mails and web pages.  Working on another Nebraska quilt right now.  I think it is really going to turn out awesome.  You know some just turn out Ok and then others you really like.

Evenings have started getting longer again - that is nice.

I'll post some more pictures next time.    TaTa for now - Have a Great Valentines Day

Stuhr Museum

Thanks to everyone who stopped by over the weekend at the Stuhr Musuem to check out our booth.  It was very nice to meet you and hear about all of your quilting projects.  Hope you have a great week.

Till next time TaTa for now.

Thinking Spring

My spring UFO project

I decided to make something "different" so started hunting through my stash and found a small box of quilt blocks in lavender and blues that i had bought at at garage sale a couple of years ago.  I used them for a start and then added some flower fabric that i picked up last year and just started putting it together.  Quilting some flowers, leaves and other misc designs on it.  When i get it done i'll post the finished product.

So long for tonight as my dad would say-- tootie dootie.  Till next time.

The World

Not about quilting tonight.  My granddaughter text me and said someone brought firecrackers into her school and lit them.  VERY Scary she said, I can't imagine what was going through those kids minds.  We live in a troubled world.  What is the matter with people?  Why would you want to scare kids that way?  I just don't understand.  She also said , " They got away with it."  I need to check into it a little more but if that school knows who did it and did nothing --what does that say.

All for tonight - just dissapointed in our world.

Here We Go

Well I never thought i'd have a "blog" but here goes.

I do Long-Arm quilting and specialize in memory quilts and bears.  I am a late night person as evidenced by the time of this entry.  My hubby is sound a sleep by now.  I am working on several different projects right now and will post pictures as they get finished.  Has anyone ever had problems getting chalk out of fabric?  I never had till tonight and spent 2 hours trying to get yellow chalk off white fabric.  I have sewn for years and always used chalk to mark things and never had a problem.  Refilled with a new little bottle of chalk.  Wonder if they are making it different now?

Look forward to hearing about others projects they have going on.  TaTa for Now.

Memory quilts and bears custom made just for you!

May you always have love to share,
